Dr. Ted Chan speaks with patient Rosalind Stroud, 74, about the abdominal pain that brought her to Thornton Hospital’s emergency department this week. Chan and other UC San Diego doctors, are working with nonprofit West Health on a new “Acute Care at Home” program that seeks to deliver some services that usually require admission at patients’ residences.
